Hotel Casa 1800 Granada

Shopping experience

Over 1800 places to shop…

Hotel Casa 1800 Granada is located in Albaicín, the Arab quarter where artisans lived and where the Castilian culture also settled its workshops, a step away from the best shops. We have a great tradition of craftsmanship and markets with all kinds of products. Luthiers (guitar-makers, as they like to call themselves), precious antiques, gourmet shops, goldsmiths, big brands of clothing, sportswear, footwear, cosmetics and perfumery. Do you dare to wear a custom-made hat, or a perfume made exclusively for you?

Visit La Alcaicería, the old silk market, where merchants took and picked the richest, most sumptuous fabrics and the finest spices. You will find beautiful examples of hand-painted Grenadian tiles and inlay wonders with the same 14th and 15th century designs used in furniture and ceilings of the Alhambra. The San Agustín Market, built in 1881 on the former site of the convent of San Agustín, has traditional stalls and good places to buy delicatessen such as natural jams and honey from Granada with designation of origin.

On specific dates and coinciding with the changes of season there are several markets: on the first weekend of the month at Mirador de San Nicolás we have the Agua Market, with local crafts. On the first Saturday of the month, next to the Palacio de Congresos, there is an organic market with products from the Valley and Costa Tropical and also non-food products with a clear environmental proposal. On the last weekend of September, coinciding with the feast of the Virgen de las Angustias, our patron saint, we have La Feria del Libro and the Autumn Fruit Market. You can find autumn fruits native to Granada such as almecinas, acerolas, jujube, winter loquats or pomegranates. In December, Granada lights up with Christmas lights, and there are Christmas markets in Fuente de las Batallas and Plaza Bib Rambla.
